A 10mm rifle would be awkward and not very lore-friendly in my opinion. Fallout 2 offered a 10mm pipe rifle in the early game. They were used extensively by the Bureau of Alcohol, Drugs, Tobacco, Firearms and Lasers, while in the military such pistols were being phased out in favor of energy weapons.Their ruggedness, reliability and firepower made them a popular choice among wastelanders and thus a staple of wasteland firefights. (Nexus mods, not workbench) Something akin to Maria or A Light In Shining Darkness from New Vegas.
